Now that you know how to make your own amazing svg files, you’re ready to conquer the die cut world! Well, at least most of it. Click the dropdown menu to see the other options - including PNG. Choose the File Name and then change the File Type to whatever you want to save it as. Then choose the location to save the svg file to. Then choose File > Save As > Save to Hard Drive in the top left corner of the Silhouette Studio software. The default file type is Silhouette Studio 3. Design the file or open the file that you may have previously designed. Click either Save As or Save Selection as > Save to Hard Drive. Being able to create your own, unique cut files opens up a whole new world of possibilities! Since this was 98% of the reason I bought a Cricut in the first place (the other 2% being that I’ve just always thought they were awesome), I made sure to learn how to turn my design ideas into svg files and now I’d like to pass this knowledge on to you! To Save As a PNG from Silhouette Studio, with your design open in the work area, go to the File menu. This is something I’ve been doing almost non-stop ever since I purchased my Cricut Explore Air™. Check the line thickness, which you can see in the Quick-access Toolbar when it’s selected. ![]() Once you have opened your file, you will need to select Save As from the File. This can be done by clicking File then Open in the menu bar at the top of the program. The first thing you need to do is open the PNG file in the software.
